ASM - Splice the Mainbrace (Video)

I've been a fan of ASM for a while, and it's been great hearing their new album - Crown Yard - keeping up with the quality of their debut, Platypus Funk. Fans of the debut will know what to expect t some degree - its still hiphop, still upbeat, still boom bap. It's the overall quality that's improved - Green T and FP's rhymes and flow are smoother and tighter, whilst Fade's production follows the same upwards trajectory on the old skills-o-meter.

 

This new single, it's fair to say then, is more quality hip-hop. A funk tingling break, some soul trumpets, harmonica stabs and floating funk flute (peep the alliteration..) carry Green and FP trading rhymes. The video itself features the 3 on the run from a detective whilst street artist Liliwenn sprays a mural of the fleeing perps....
